If someone dies without leaving a valid Will it is referred to as dying intestate. In some cases there are no known relatives and therefore their assets or estate would pass to the Crown, if it were not for the existence of Probate Researchers like ourselves.

In many cases when we contact possible beneficiaries they are unaware of the relative or lost contact with them many years ago.

Intestacy laws vary enormously from one country to another, and even in the United Kingdom there are differences between England / Wales and Scotland for example.

If we have contacted you then it is because we believe you are a possible relative and may ask various questions to prove we have found the correct heir to an estate.

We are not commissioned by the government to find relatives, but we do obtain government provided information to enable our research to begin.

Why use Chris Lovell Probate Research

Our belief is that quality of service has its foundation in good communication and openness to potential and signed up clients and as an independent research company we consider that we have many advantages over the larger companies in this area. Our hours of business are not governed by office hours and therefore we are available at weekends and evenings to discuss any issues with you and answer any questions you have.

We also provide a ‘Client Zone’ where signed up clients can visit and get up-to-date information about their specific inheritance and family trees.
